APC's Phoenix Flies + GSU + Collier Heights Walking Tour

If you participated in last year's home tours, you may have taken the self-guided tour of Collier Heights - here's a chance to learn more and enjoy a guided walking tour (from the Phoenix Flies website - with over 100 events):

Collier Heights, a residential suburb six miles west of downtown Atlanta, exhibits an exceptionally intact collection of mid-20th century house types and represents the culmination of African-American residential development during a period of strict residential segregation. Guided walking tours conducted by Heritage Preservation students will provide insights into the neighborhood’s architectural and developmental significance.

Place: Atlanta-Berean Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 291 Hamilton E. Holmes Dr.

The GSU Master of Heritage Preservation Program offers compelling opportunities to pursue careers relating to the preservation, restoration, and interpretation of the physical past.
