Collier Heights, a residential suburb six miles west of downtown Atlanta, exhibits an exceptionally intact collection of mid-20th century house types and represents the culmination of African-American residential development during a period of strict residential segregation. Guided walking tours conducted by Heritage Preservation students will provide insights into the neighborhood’s architectural and developmental significance.
