About a week ago I met briefly with Mr. Carl Elefante when he was in Greensboro, N.C. for a historic preservation / sustainability lecture. I spoke very briefly about my current graduate work involving mid-century modern conservation/preservation strategies, the special issues regarding materials, artistic intent and life cycle assessments of the structures.
He suggested that I contact you for guidance as well as pick up a copy of your book, which I now have. What are the most prevalent concerns I should be looking at that needs further research? ( currently, I'm researching HVAC, MEP, lighting systems and other issues as well as how to rehabilitate in compliance with The Secretary of the Interiors Standards.
Theo I just signed on. Several things caught my eye about all this. I will email you separately. Noticed Utzon has just died. Reminded me of my days with Arup.
Hello Theodore, I sent an email to the US info address to follow up on the subject of a Pittsburgh chapter. Look forward to hearing from you! Happy New Year!
